Default Some Programs not Working.
I'm trying to help my in-laws with their PC with XP Professional v2002. Their eScan was expired, I added SpyBot, updated and ran a scan. put Symantec Corporate on as well. Problem is that some programs are unresponsive. Namely, Turbotax doesn't open from the desktop or windows explorer. Also, I try the Symantec live update, which works on my laptop, but nothing happens when I click it here. If anyone can help a noob, that's be great. I'm not unwilling to research myself, I've just had trouble getting a direction to go in on this issue. Even just advice on where to look would be hugely appreciated. Thanks again.

Have you tried uninstalling Symantec and try this free one:AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com

It is possible Synantec is blocking these programs.Have you checked?
