Pending: Help!!! please.

my wife got inpatient and installed bit defender total security 2008, and now when i start the computer the screen goes blue and gives me this message..

"TOP:c0000135{unable to locate component} this application failed to start because basevke32 was not found "

i can do a little on the computer but that means nothing to me. lol.. if anyone could help me to fix this situation would be very greatful.. as we have alot of pictures and stuff we dont want to lose.. thanks..

Can you boo into SAFE MODE by pressing F8 at POST and do a system restore to before she installed bit defender.

Start/ All Programs/ Accessories/ System Tools/ System Restore

Dont have that option, and when hit f5 doesnt do anything... next.?

Hello,could you restart the machine and on startup repeatedly tap F8 for safe mode?

Then uninstall it once you have gotten to the choice menu and chosen safe mode.

nope didnt work f8 does nothing.. but cause a keyboard failure..

What operating system are you running?Do you have the install disk for the operating system?

F8 some times takes a few times to work.

its XP media center edition.
