My computer is Windows Vista, not XP. Your info says pre work for XP. I've talked to 3 techs at Dell who've all given different advice, non of which worked. One suggested exporting all inbox messages I wanted to save to another location. He said to type in C:\USERS\NT\APPDATA\LOCAL\MICROSOFT\WINDOWSMAIL in the search box. Then click on the Window Mail folder from the search result. Look for the file Windows Mail. MSMessageStore & delete it. This was supposed to delete everything in the inbox, then to open Windows Mail & import messages saved from another location. My problem was that when I typed all that info into the search box it came up no program found.
