I keep getting error messages when I log into Yahoo Mail saying "Firefox has encountered a problem and has to close" and hence it closes. When I restart firefox I keep getting the error message. This only happens on the Yahoo Mail pages and not on any other web page/site.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions on how to put this right.
Regards
Ian

Heya
Which version of Yahoo Mail are you using? if you can switch to the basic version (if your not currently) on there then try that and update all java/ shockwave plug ins. Or try reinstalling Firefox. Hope this helped

Hi Ian, also try running firefox in safe mode (no add ons) in case one of the extensions is conflicting with the website
Does it do the same thing in internet explorer? |

This error only occurs with Firefox not IE. I'll try these suggestions shortly and get back

Here's where we're at: I've run FF in safe mode..That runs fine, I've updated all the java/shockwave plugins... that's ok, but when I logged onto mail I still got the error message. I've reinstalled FF and still get the error, So I tried reverting to the Classic version of Yahoo Mail and get no Error, therefore as I've no Idea what has caused this error I'll use the Classic version unless anyone else has any ideas
Thanks |

Hi Ian,
If you have installed Yahoo! Messenger on your system, you may experience crashes when using Yahoo! Mail. This is caused by the Yahoo! Application State plugin (bug 322363, bug 326344). To see if this is the cause of your problems: Type Code:
about:plugins Source: Yahoo

Thanks Hengis,
I don't use Yahoo Messenger (I checked to see if the kids haven't installed it either). Yahoo! Application State is not listed so I presume that it won't be the cause of my errors |
