I downloaded nero 8 trial and installed, when i restarted there were no dektop icons or taskbar.
ran sybot and deleted spyware, also ran CA spyware and deleted spyware, restarted and same thing happens.

Go to Start > run > msconfig (enter) > startup tab > click on "disable all" and ok. Reboot into "normal XP"...any change?

Your HJT log is clean too...

If that doesn't work, I found this on another site:
Hi. Same problem and after staying up all night trying to figure it out.. here is what I found. Ctrl alt delete.. find the file bxomebc.exe and remove it. This will get your task bar up but the file will return upon restart. I downloaded security task manager (Security Task Manager - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com) restarted my pc and opened this under new task so it could scan the above file. It came back as a security risk and it gives you the option to quarantine it. So far.. so good.. but no luck in finding out how it got there. Hope this works for you.
