what web browser are you using?
if you are using Firefox, it might have opened in a new tab.
Same if you use IE7

Ash do you have IE7?

Do you mean you want it not to open in a new window just another tab on same page?

ok u might have got a toolbar is capable of opening pages in new tabs
Do you have any toolbars installed?

Edit - Yes JB i have IE7 and no i'm not asking about that im just wondering if when he clicks a link to google it might open in a new tab, which means back will not be highlighted until he goes onto another page.

sorry i use IE7 & Firefox, so it will be different for you because you use IE6.

Hopefully, someone else will be able to help.

Ashok_m, try this;

Open Internet Explorer - tools, internet options, advanced tab, check the "reuse same window" box, click ok, close IE and re-open it, then test.
