Default Windows Movie Maker Question and Problem HELP!

Hey guys
We are editing a movie we shot for our class using WMM on a Vista computer. The preview videos and sounds all work fine in the project file. But when we tried to publish the movie, the final result contained the titles, transitions, effects, music and sounds, and some movie clips, while the majority of the other video clips were replaced by a black screen!!!!

How to fix this?!?!?

Another question:
Can I transfer a WMM project from a PC to another? I want to continue editing the video on another PC with more RAM, so how can I copy/paste the project and all its files to another computer, without losing any file??

Thanks a lot

Hey tonyme,

This is not my area of expertise but I did find this. I think it may be worth a read: File type compatibility

Thanks for the link...
However, those common problems are experienced by the pre-Vista version. Though I noticed they said that MM often experiences problems with .mpg files and my imported clips are .mpg

They said that the Vista version supports these files and is supposed to have fixed those bugs... So I still don't know... The thing that drives me crazy is that the movie works great on the preview panel but only shows the error when it is published

Thanks again, but no

I know how to convert the files from .mpg to .wmv but the thing is that I want to continue editing it without doing the whole project all over again with the converted files (because there were lots of splits and cuts in the project and it's just painful to do that all over again).

If there is absolutely no way there might be another alternative, I will do what I have to do...
