I was working on a very important word file for school and it disappeared!... and to make it worse its due tomorrow!
Is there any way to get a missing .doc file back?

Well, if the automatic save feature was on it might be in your document folder, or if it disappeared because of a glitch in your OS, sometimes, sometimes, starting the word program over again might recovery it. Sometimes doing a search for it may help because it may have saved in a different folder under a different name so you may want to try searching for unique words that were in the document.
How it disappeared is important, because sometimes (again) sometimes a simple recovery application may be able to find a deleted document.

If you know the exact folder it was saved in, and the exact file name, you can try going to Start > Run, and typing "cmd" and running it. Then use the "cd C\folder\folder\" etc. command to navigate to the folder it was saved in. Then type in the file name of the document (including the .doc extension) and it may open for you to save again (hopefully under a different name).

This may sound dumb, but have you checked the Recycle Bin?

I've tried a recovery program, checked the recycle bin, tried cmd... everything.
Its still gone, lost, hiding... no where...

I'm afraid I personally can't think of any other solutions. You're positive Word won't automatically recover it and that it isn't in Word's "Recent Documents"?

I apologize that no one has replied. My brother was using my profile to post this for his GF. Unfortunatly they we not able to find the file with any of the tips given and she had to do it over.

On the bright side she ended up getting a good grade for the paper!
