[Answered] Disable Printer Not Connected Message?
I am unsure if this is the appropriate forum for this question, sorry if I am in the wrong place.
I used the search function here before posting and called HP three separate times about this to no avail. I am hoping someone here might be able to help me.
This is not really a malfunction so much as an annoyance with something that is working (for the most part) correctly, which I would like to disable.
I am using Windows Vista on my HP Pavilion laptop and have an HP Photosmart C4280 All-In-One printer connected through a USB cable.
Being a portable computer, I rarely have it connected to my printer/scanner at home.
When I start up my computer there is a warning bubble that pops up to tell me my printer/scanner is not connected. This bubble doesn't seem to disappear until I click it and when I do it causes my computer to pause for about four seconds, sometimes disrupting other programs that are loading if I click on it too early.
Could someone please tell me how to disable this message bubble?
HP tried to sell me more products when I asked them about it, something to make my printer wireless, but I don't want to do that and I don't see how it would help me when I am away from home anyway.
With good instruction I don't mind altering my registry, if that would be required.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.
