Default [Fixed] Microsoft Oulook Taskbar Toolbar?

is there a way to minimize outlook without it being in the taskbar, but still be running in the background? im tired of having to fumble with the outlook taskbar-button while shifting through internet explorer, work, and other window buttons. I usually wind up closing outlook then having to wait for it to reconnect when i open it again.

thanks

Hello Linkinmylog,

There is not an option in Outlook to do it, however, I have read in many places that there are programs that allow you to minimize any program to the system tray rather than the taskbar.

I have not tested any program myself, but I know there are programs to do it. I tried searching for one on Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com but didn't find any with reviews, so I can't say I would recommend either of the ones I found.

If you do some hunting on Google, I'm sure you can find a good, free, spyware free program that lets you do that.

Hope that helps!

Hi,

I may be reading the OP wrong..but are you asking if you can minimize Outlook to the notifications area of the Start bar?

Whups, I was referring to Outlook Express. I didn't think to check if full Outlook had more options like that. Now I'm wondering if there is someway to do it in express, but I can't find a feature to do it.
