Default [Resolved] Add New Hardware wizard starts on start up

Hi all,

This problem has arisen since puting on the two anti virus / firewall programs which has been now reolved since removing one program in Safe Mode.

However the Add new harware wizard starts up and the new hardware found dialogue in the system tray on start up.

trouble is I didnt add any new hardware. How do i prevent this starting up or how do I find out what hardware it is trying to add so I can add the appropriate drivers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey scp,

When the dialog box appears, it normally gives you a hint of what hardware it's looking for? For example:

^ requires a driver for "Liquid Mix". Also, have you tried completing the hardware wizard to see if Windows picks up the driver on it's own? At the end of the wizard, it will ask you if you would like to see the dialog again.

Is everything working properly, 3D games, sound, printers, scanners, and add-on cards, everything like that?

thanks for the advice mad monkey.

However the add hardware wizard said that the hardware was unknown

In the end went into device manager and saw that there were 15 instances of Radial Miniport (x86) with errors. I deleted the devices and now the problem seems resolved.

Thanks for the advice and help much apprecaited.
