Beta's are risky--
that's why they are Beta's-- they know they don't have all the bugs worked out yet--
and they won't if people don't risk it + report the bugs. It is impossible to develop software without trial and error. Especially since M$ is going in a "new direction" with IE 7 +8-- more security built-in... which they did not do in the past.
When you install any beta-- there is some risk-- they tell you so when you download it. Some work great right away-- some have problems.
This is true for open-source software as well.
