Default Anyone use Mozy Backup?

I was looking at using Mozy for my offsite backup and was wondering if anyone has used it? It looks pretty simple and they offer a free 2GB account. I have a home office computer with my work documents I'd like to keep out of the house (in case of a fire or theft). Thouhts?

Hi whatuusay,

i personally don't do offsite backups from my personal computer - i don't find that kind of thing necessary.

If it is important information, i wouldn't want to trust another server to host my files as well.
One thing that i do for many of my clients (all large companies) is setup USB drives with a program called Cobian Backup. Every week we swap the drive out and take it off site for a full week of offsite backusp - just in case.

Generally speaking, these drives can go anywhere - in the boot of the car, buried under the ground, at a relatives house. All places.

Hmm - I really dont like the idea of my backups locally in my house.. or in my car or anywhere someone could easily break in the case of a fire burn up.

I liked the idea of mozy because all data sent to them is encrypted (you can use your own key if you like) and then kept offsite in a datacenter.. which i would concider a bit safer than my car :P

Anyone have any personal experience with mozy?
