Default Video Aspect Ratio

Ok, so I burnt my first film to dvd yday, and when i played on dvd player, it came up as 4:3 even tho the tv was set at 16:9, no change could be made, so i looked at the windows dvd maker to see if i missed anything, there was in the options the check box to change from 4:3 to 16:9, so i checked the box and did again, but when i put in the dvd player, nothing had happened. I know when i have played the file on my pc, I have to change the aspect ratio to 16:9, but doesnt seem its set up to play at that all the time.

anyone know how i change this, so when i burn it fills the screen... as i dont want small screen films... thanks

no need for help, think ive crasked it, I used WinAVI file converter, so that the avi files would be accepted by windows dvd maker, just checked on the converter and it can be sleected what aspect ratio i select to use, and i had left it on auto, so changed to 16:9, all being well, this time, ive cracked it.

will post back if i have any other problems, thanks to anyone that took the time to read the problem anways.

Tip: Never shoot your films in 16:9

Widescreen is always done after you shoot, when converting/burning.

Ah, interesting, hmm.

I've never encountered that problem oddly enough, have you tried checking though your DvD player options, it might be forcing a 4:3 ratio
