This happens with quite a few of my CDs: after ripping them to my PC, the resulting MP3s have a watery sort of 'clinking' sound in the background. I've tried a few different ripping programs and Jukeboxes. I know ripping at a low bitrate can make watery sounds, but I'm ripping at 160 kbps. What's the problem? Is it the encoder being used by my Jukebox? Is it the CD? Something in the encoder settings?

it could be the cd rom tray, maybe even your MP3 player.

It is settiings well it could be a few things,your correct on the birate,I would not use Jukebox to rip.I use Nero7.Have you tried just copy files from the cd?
Are the origonal disks encrypted?Copy rights may cause this problem but do not quote me on that one.Or the encoder?I think you need to try diffrent software/encoder etc.

Check your settings.

Does this happen with all diffrent software you use for ripping?Or just certain CDs?It could be the converting of these CDs say from normal format to MP3?Do they play badly on computer once ripped?
