Default Streaming video problems

I have some experience with computers but just enough to get me in trouble. I use XP and have never had trouble viewing video links like those on Utube

But, recently every time I click on a video link it plays the video very slow and the scenes jump, stall, jump, stall ect. The audio does the same so you hear only every other word like a bad cell connection.

I thought it was windows media player 11 which, I upgraded a month or so ago, so I unloaded it and restored WMP 9...no help.

I then removed WMP completely and installed another player, VLC media player....no change.

I then removed VLC and installed GOM player...no change, same playback problem.

As it is I can no longer watch any of these video clips. I want the best set up I can get but I don't watch enough to spend a bunch of bucks on it....Any Ideas?

Hey shiner, welcome to PCHF

it could possibly be your video card..
can you give any more detail about your computer?

Pentium 4, 240GHz, 512 RAM, running XP. I don't know what video card is in it. I can pull the card and find out unless there is another way to find out what it is but I didn't think that was the problem because I don't have any video problems, even DVD, unless I click on a video link like utube posts.

If you need more just say the word I sure would like to get this fixed.

Thanks.

Sorry I am out of town for work a lot and I just got back late last night but I am here today. I have a DSL connection. I will post a link that I had trouble with this A.M. but this same problem happens with all video clips like this one.

On my machine this runs choppy. The video starts, stalls, jumps forward, the audio is intermittent, it is impossible to watch or listen to. This happens on all these links but, as I said, I have no other video problems as far as I can tell.

Any help would be great
