Hey Everyone! I came across a Firefox extension the other day that I think might interest some of you. And YES I did check in the " 100 best Firefox Extensions" and did not see it there. I did a search and the site told me to check my spelling(HA!) It's to obviously test your upload and download but, ALSO it will check on your connection and tell you if it is configured properly plus other info. its wrong. =P I can download at about 777KB/s on average, bursting to 1.3MB/s. It says my max is 650KB/s =P

EDIT> Oh hang on. =P i was downloading a youtube video. it says my maximum speed is 814KB/s

Hey AW! I just tried it and then verified with dslreports, and got 428.88kb/s with the plug-in and got 478.86kb/s with dslreports on the download. So yes there is some discrepancy but, not by much. The advantages of this plug-in in the form of diagnostics is, to me, more important. The fact that it could possibly show you if your connection is actually working and how to start fixing it if it's down, is more important. There's always some discrepancy in any testing, how far, quality of packets and so on. Unless everyone is testing from the same location, you will always see some difference.
