. . . for Outlook Express? I don't mean those that come into the Inbox, I mean saved on the computer so I could go get it and save it on disk or my external HD.

Tried spotting it in the programs' folder, but I didn't see anything saying Mail. Seems all you can do is export to Outlook or MS Exchange. How far to they bury this? Or am I looking for the wrong folder/file?

Hi, try going to Tools > Options and click on the Maintenance tab. Then click the Store button. That will be the folder that all of your messages are stored in. You can change it or do whatever you want to it from there.

Thanks,
Adam

Thank you so much!

Now, the only other thing I need to know is--if I put this folder in the appropriate place after I reinstall all my stuff (I'm about to to a reformat) I will be able to open these messages again . . . yes?

The extention is .dbx . . .

Good luck let us know if you have any problems. And yes you can copy it back to the same location and that works most of the time
