Personally, I DONT like Norton. I HATE it! If you want some alternatives, try Panda Internet Security 2008 PLATINUM, Trend Micro PC-Cillin Internet Security 2008, or NOD32. These don't have any conflicts that I know about. If you still want to use Norton, DONT. Norton has a LOT of issues. I'm not judging or anything. Thx and have a great day!

Hi,

just stumbled upon your problem and had to do some digging, since I had the same problem a while back I contacted the Symantec report and got some good tips from them.

By default NAV block all connection coming in (except the ones indicated in the general rules of the inbound firewall).

To allow this type of connections you should create a rule which allows a connection through a specific port to connect in.
For that you have to find out which port is used for the VPN connection.

This is how I create my rule:
-- On the bottom left of NAV click on “Options” and choose Norton Antivirus
- In the option window, click on the left on “Real-time Protection”> “Internet Worm Protection”
- On the right under “How to customize your settings” click on the “General Rules” button
- The General Rules window will open, at the bottom you have the choice to “add” a rule, click on it. You will from then start to create the new rule.
- First of all choose “Allow” then click “Next”
- On the second window (What type of connection do you want to allow…), click Next
- Next window (What computers…), click Next
- Next window (What type of… ports…), choose “Only communication that match… all ports listed below” and click on “Add”
- Choose “Individually” and specify the port.

That should help.
