Default [Answered] My Hardrive

Hiya,

Ive had a few hardrive popups about disk space and all the usual stuff...

Its also not worth gettin an external hardrive as this pc is at its last hurdles

I was wandering if there is any hard drive cleaner or program that frees up space....

Ive done a google search and obviously all i got was porn...

Ive also gone through Add n Remove and most of my downloads etc have been removed...

Its only small, 27 GB and atm ive just got 1.5 GB free....

I honestly dont know of about 20 GB and where its all gone....

Sorry for this layout...

So all im askin is if there is a program or something that can help remove disk space apart from the windows one thats built in and the Add/Remove Prog one

Ive had a lso of help from this site so i am 100% sure ill get an answer

Tyvm

Have you considered Music or Video files that may be parked up there Boomboy?
If you do have these, especially the latter, then back these up to cd or dvd disk.
Dump old programs you have no need of anymore.

All of the possible music files have been removed as well as video, i think the main problem are files that have been roting away in a dark corner taking up space. It would be great if there was a tool to find files such as these.

Hi boomboy,

20gb is very little these days. An external hard drive would be good for any personal files, music, video's and such.

Windows already uses a nice chunk of that 27gb.

There are tools in addition to Add/Remove programs that will remove and compress any unnecessary temporary files which will free a little bit extra but not much. You won't be able to clearup much space on that drive without sacrificing the software you currently have installed.

Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup. Tick all the cleanup options you come in contact with there.

EDIT: Oh, hey Wolfey Nice to see you around again dood.

When you dropped them from Add/Remove did you search for any file remnants that may have been left behind?
An example ok
You may remove UTube download from Add/Remove but your still left with the Utube .exe file in the downloaded programs folder.

EDIT:
Hey Mad it's good to be back.
