Question webcam tuning.. please help me!!

I dont know where to post this question cos i'm new here

I just bought an (enet brand) web camera last week. I'm having problems trying to tune it to make it clearer... in the shop i bought it from they fixed this webcam to their computer and it was very clear.. I want to use my webcam with windows live messenger... so i tried to tuning the contrast, brightness and the other setting in the webcam setting option in the "tools" menu in the windows live messenger... I even tried turning the lense.. but its not helping me much...
Please help.. is there any software i should download to make my webcam clearer or something? if not can anyone please please please mail me their webcam settings on your windows live messenger(by taking the settings pic through the print screen button)? PLEASE HELP ME!!

What do you exactly mean by clear? I mean, is it to dark, to light, out of focus etc.?

Did this have any effect on the image at all? How far did you turn the lense/ring? Some lenses need to go several rounds before they don't blur anymore...
