Default Power Point Viewer file loading

After using PPViewer for years (now Ver 2007) without trouble, now when I click on a pps file in a folder or in an email attachment I got a message that it needs a file association. It was associated in Control Panel Folder Options and I repeated the association there to be sure. I also remade the association in my file manager (Total Commander) and now get the following Message in a small window:

"Microsoft Office Power Point Viewer 20007
Usage:
/extract: path, extracts the content of the package to the path folder
/quiet, runs the package in silent mode
/?, shows this help message"

However, if I first load PPV it will open and run the pps files normally.
I have reinstalled PPV several times, but no change, i.e., file will load and run if PPV loaded first, but only the above error message if the file is just clicked on.

What must I do to get PPV to load and run when a pps file is clicked?

Have uninstalled PPV 2007 and installed PPV 2003, Ver.11.0.5703.
Same result as previously described.
Now what?
And just what does that error message about "Usage" want me to do?
