Default Keep two computers in sync?

My dad is getting a new laptop for work and wants to bring home one of the old XP desktops for his desk at home.

Now is there a way that every time he conects to our network here at home they will sync with each other. Basicly he has a bunch or inportent files and wants to have them backed up at all times on another computer.
