the problem has to lie with the reinstall of windows. uninstall it from the add/remove applet, uninstall from the registry (start > run > regedit > hkey_current_user and hkey_local_machine > software > delete the folder for power dvd, reboot, reinstall, and see what happens.

thanks ,

v

Yeah, I've tried that multiple times and it didn't work. I guess WinDVD and PowerDVD are out for me and I have to find something else to play my DVD's with.

Okay...I finally had the time to do a reinstall of Windows...it installed to my 160 gb 7200RPM...and when I did I installed PowerDVD and it worked fine. So doing what I did before...I used Maxblast to make my new SATA 500gb HD a bootable drive. It formated the SATA drive, did a 1:1 copy of the C drive on the 160gb drive to the D drive, and renamed the 160gb C drive to D and the 500gb D drive to C. Everything working...I reboot Windows...and PowerDVD doesn't work! I still crashes with an error. Now, here's the thing...everything else...and I mean EVERYTHING else that I have run since copying files over to the SATA drive works PERFECTLY. Only PowerDVD does not work. Why?

It gives some error about the dvd_x.imp module.
