Question [Answered] Playing .STR videos

Hi,
I have tried many different players from different websites to try and play some .str files on a playstation 1 disk that I put into the computer. The three programs i have tried either don't work, crash when converting/playing from disk, or won't load becuase they need a certain driver.
The sites i have found some players on ar Zophar's Domain: Playstation Utilities and Section Utilities--> Playstation
If anyone has any information, or knows how to play video files from playstation disks on computer in windows xp home sp2 that would be great.

thanks, jake

Edit, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Hello. I've looked into this a lot before, and unfortunately those programs are very hit-and-miss; sometimes they'll work and sometimes they won't. Whether it works also varies greatly from game to game. Some games simply won't work, and others work really easily for this purpose.

.STR could also be a musicfile but that isn't very common...though this could explain it, you're sure it's a videofile?

I think that they are video files becuase on websites other people and utilities have said they ar, however I have no real proof. Thanks for the feedback
