Default [Answered] Norton Internet Security 2007 won't uninstall!!! PLEASE DESPERATE HELP!!!

i am sooo mad! and please I need your help!

I purshased a Toshiba laptop lately running Vista Home Premium and it came with Norton internet security (which I hate) so I uninstalled it successfully...
Then, I installed McAffee Security Center 2007 but it crashed for an unkown reason and I hate to use the System Restore to a time before Norton was uninstalled...

Now, Norton won't uninstall anymore it says ""The specified module could not be found"///

PLEASE HELP! I WANT TO UNINSTALL NORTON (WHICH DOESN'T EVEN RUN NOW BY THE WAY) AND INSTALL MCAFFEE 2007....

Oy,

Here ya go:

To COMPLETELY REMOVE Norton will require several "steps" ;
1) Right click on the icon in the System Tray and select "End/Terminate" or similar name.
2) Uninstall ALL components in Add or Remove Programs
3) Use the "Norton Removal Tool" @ www.majorgeeks.com/Norton_Remo val_Tool_SymNRT_d4749.html .
4) Use your computer's "Search > All files and folders", using the search "term"
"Symantec" and later "Norton" and "Delete" all it finds. IF SOME ENTRIES REFUSE TO
BE "DELETED", EVEN AFTER REBOOTING THE COMPUTER, GET "UNLOCKER" FROM
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlock er/ . After it is installed, repeat the "Search" etc and when
you right-click on the Entry to "Delete" it, select "Unlocker" instead.
5) Use a registry cleaner, like the FREE & SAFE "Registry First Aid" from
www.rosecitysoftware.com/reg1a id ; scroll down that page until you see
"Registry First Aid Standard" with "Rose City Download site 1 ( or 2 )" and click one of
those .
Also, McAffee is no better then Norton, you're way better off going with AVG

Thanks for the tip... I actualy figured it out before reading your post... I downladed the Removal Tool and removed it thanks anyway...
JUST:
1) Why should I run a registry check?
2) I think McAfee is better because it updates WAYYYY faster
3) You mean AVG the free antivirus?

1) There might be leftover registry keys from Norton, sometimes they fould up other Anti-Viruses

2) Having fast update isn't worth having a crappy Anti-Virus

3) Yea, I mean the free edition of AVG

Hey there .

Yeah AVG and Avast are really good Anti-virus's,
although I do think Mcafee is better then Norton if I had to choose between the two.

It's a bit better I'll give it that, but it's still bloated and AVG/Avast/PC-Cillan are much better and competent scanners

Is AVG compatible with Vista?
