Uninstall problem
Hello PCHF,
I am having a problem with a piece of sh...oftware from my isp. Actually more than one.
To make a long story short, when I try to launch something called "Verizon Online Help and Support" I get an error message.
So being the brainiac that I am, I figgered I would uninstall/reinstall the thing. I go to add/remove, click on it, click remove, and it hangs up at a certain point, won't let me do anything, can't shut down, nothing. Pc isn't frozen, can still do other stuff, just can't do anything with the hung up uninstall screen or shut down.
Now, I was having trouble with other software from them as well and went through a whole debaucle with tech support involving remote control chat and phone sessions and a couple system restore, and undo's.(Shoulda called you guys first). If you need more detail lemme know.
Please see attached images.

Try booting into Safe Mode and uninstalling from there.
Good Luck...

Same result, I let it go for about 15+ min. to be sure. I noticed the tower was a bit louder while this is happening, I assume the hard drive either spinning faster or the fan.

OK. That was trying the easy approach. Now, click on the Pre-work in my signature and follow the directions. Lets see if our smart staffers can find any bad thing in your computer.
Good Luck...

one thing I would recommend is getting a little app called unlocker. You can download it from majorgeeks.com, very handy tool to have around. Give it a crack and let us know how it worked.
thanks,
