Default [Pending] Outlook Express 6 sending problem

Hi guys! can anyone help me with my problem with regards to outlook express 6...please?

I am sending an email, it frequently encounters an error "error sending 1 message using (my office email address) and so, the email stays in my outbox. to my surprise, it was sent to our client almost 50 times! our clients are complaining that they receive too many emails with the same message.

i am using outlook express for a year now without reconfiguring the settings (and because i don't have the rights because i am not an administrator of that computer) and i wonder why i encountered this error now? i also scanned my computer using updated AVG free antivirus and no problems fround.

i also searched for an article in yahoo search, to delete an "outbox.dbx"...so i did. and when i restart the outlook express again, i can't send any emails anymore. i think it made the matter worse. so, i clicked on 'undo delete' to restore the outbox.dbx file.

huhuhu...please, anyone? thank you very much!

Hello Wettie_21,

You say you are not an administrator because I am assuming it is a business computer. My first suggestion would be to contact someone who has admin priveledges and first delete your profile, then uninstall/reinstall Outlook, then set your profile back up and try again to see if you encounter the same problem. Of course before all of this, make sure your e-mails are saved. Here is a detailed process from Microsoft on how to do it - How to back up and to restore Outlook Express data You can save your profile through this process for a backup, but I would still delete your profile and set it back up manually in case it is an error in your profile setup that is causing the problem (which I doubt) but still may be a good idea.

If you continue having the problem after that, then even though AVG was clean I would try following my pre-work link and then posting your results in our Hijackthis! Logs section of the forum. I would suspect you have malicious software. There is also a small potential of hardware related issues, such as your network card is defective. Do you notice any other erratic behavior when you're just surfing the internet?

thank you very much for your replies. will try these instructions.

btw, no problem surfing the internet and receiving emails. sometimes, our OE6 sends email ok, but most of the times, it doesn't. do you think that it's possible that our ISP's configuration may have changed their configuration settings and we are not advised? anyway, i have reported our problem to their CSR and will send a techsupport within the week.
