Apologies if this question has been asked before- but I could not find any answers after searching.

I installed some freeware which I believe (I can't remember) was "Hide Folder" which I used to lock and hide my documents and pictures folders on my external hard drive (I had this shared on a network and did not want my flat mate to access this). Then I foolishly re-formatted my computer, and forgot I had this "Hide Folder" prog running...so now these folders are hidden and unaccesable.

I'm running XP home edition. Anybody got any ideas how to unlock/hide these folders....please don't tell me they are encypted forever!

Is it possible if you could just reinstall "Hide Folder" and decrypt those folders?

Hi Chiaz- I tried that, but the programme only recognised the current visable folders
