Default Winamp freezes constantly

When I run Winamp (my preffered media player) it freezes, it used to just do it when I ran another program like Sierra Home Architect along with it but recently it's been doing it on it's own. I have 1.08ghz and 768mb RAM so it should be more than enough to run Winamp so what's the problem? My soundcard is a Soundblaster EMU10K1 from a dell optiplex system. I don't know what the problem could be, any ideas?

Hello Zachary,

Is Winamp the only program you have problems with? If so, have you tried uninstalling, then reinstalling? There is a setting in Winamp that let's you choose how much of your resources you want to dedicate to it. Maybe by chance it is set very low.

I would find it strange that only one single program freezes. You could try running Memtest86 - Memtest86 - Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com - That will test your memory to see if you have any errors. Also, you can run CCleaner and maybe a program like Registry Mechanic to help clean up junk files and registry errors.

Hope that info helps you
