Hey Mat,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful team of techs here, and I am certain that we will be able to help you.

Can you please be more specific, what is the application, what file types are you trying to convert?

Looking forward to your reply,

Thanks ladygreenwitch I actually wanted to try out whether I have done it correctly. Since Thinstall will work in a virtual or clean platform so I decided to use VM player for test. It need the .vmx extention to work in VM player. I just select a small application for testing ( Lovely folders ). It consist of exe file and text file ( instruction of using the program ). I do hope you will help me in it and if require more information please let me know. Thanks for your reply.

Hey Mat,

OK, just trying to get my bearings,

You are using a program called Thinstall, correct?

It requires .vmx file format to work with files?

You are trying to convert the files you are working with to a .vmx format?

Please give me the names of the programs and files you are trying to convert to this format, and the name of the application that you are trying to use to do the conversion.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Thanks for the prompt reply. I just wanted to clarify is it you want me to upload the files to you. The said application can be downloaded from thinstall.com and lovely folders.com which all are trial version. The size of this two files is about 13 MB. If you want me to upload it to you please let me know how to do it as the files are quite large for this place space. Do I over exceed the attachment allow. Thanks and hopefully to hear from you again.

Hey Mat,

No you don't have to upload them, just tell me the name of the application, and the file types you are trying to convert, and what you are using to convert them.

Looking forward to your reply,

Thanks for your reply as it is you can get a trial copy of ' lovely folders ' from www.lovelysofts.com and ' Thinstall ' from Thinstall Application Virtualization Suite - Secure Virtual Application Deployment Solution. Since Thinstall will work in a virtual or clean platform so I decided to use VM player for test. It need the .vmx extention to work in VM player. By virtual or clean platform what it actually mean , how to set up a virtual plaeform. I tried to find a converter but not able to get it. I do hope you can help me.
