Default Vista WMP

Hey, Been using Windows Media Player on vista for the past few weeks and noticed something which is really bugging me! All the tracks i play seem to have large variations in sound level going Loud - quiet - loud - quiet. Its not instant as if turning it off and on but gradually gets quieter then louder then quieter then louder. A simular effect to if you had a dial for the volume control and was turning it up and down - not to the extremes just enough to notice.

Any idea why it is because they're all the same files i had on my old computer with WMP 9.

Cheers

Ben

Why don't you right click on My Computer, click Device Manager to the left, and under sound, right click all of them and make sure they all have the latest drivers. The driver will auto download itself from the internet.

I've checked and my drivers are up to date. The problem above though is shadowed now by a bigger problem with WMP. Every song i listen to jumps towards the end of it! Havent noticed it with videos, just Music. Its always in the same place for all songs.

Anyone else had this problem or know a solution?

My dad had the exact same problem with the sound only through winamp and on Xp Home. When he returns from work i'll ask him how he fixed it, it just might work for you
