this minor problem is very similar to my last post (thankyou H for a very comprehensive answer!) I have lots of media players on my XP laptop and I recently had a conflict between Musicmatch and itunes so I uninstalled Musicmatch and no more problem but Musicmatch left behind a folder in program files. Am I safe to delete this folder? And how do I remove Musicmatch from the list - when I insert an audio CD I am asked which media player I want to use and Musicmatch is still on the list even though it is uninstalled ?!? Can I remove it from the list? Cheers x2 Ali

Meh, I would have ditched iTunes if it was me.......
If you have uninstalled Musicmatch then yes, if you don't need any information within the folder (such as profiles, maybe) it should be ok to remove the folder and re-assign default control of music files to your chosen player...like this: How to change file associations in Windows XP

Hello ali .
I dont think Hengis is online right now, but you can try this while youre waiting for him. Right click on the Musicmatch shortcut, and from the menu select>remove from list, or delete, whichever you see. You can also do this with one of the Jetaudio shortcuts. You should also be able to drag and drop them in the recycle bin. If the shortcuts come back when you reboot, you have some files left that need to be removed. |
