Firefox problem

Whenevr i open my firefox it sucks my CPU speed and makes my computer really slow...also the web pages take time to fully render though i have a 2mbps connection...the same web page opens wayyy faster in IE so i know therez something wrong with firefox...i uninsatlled and reinstalled it again...but still the same problem...any idea whats going on?

Firefox used to have a problem with memory leaks, but I thought that got fixed quite a while ago.
