I really must add
Dave's Quicksearch Deskbar.

Search directly from your desktop whatever search engine you like-- without having to open a browser first or deal with large/intrusive toolbars.Sits right in your taskbar-- opens default browser automatically.

Release candidate 4 is the one if you have XP SP2

Dave's Quick Search Taskbar Toolbar Deskbar

you can customize this in many ways with a little file edit.

A lot of good stuff on The Portable Freeware Collection, all kinds of portable goodness. Site isn't
really navigation friendly but it's updated almost everyday.

One of the best IMHO for a free backup is still cobian backup and its free. Great program..

Cobian's site - The home of Cobian Backup

I also vouch for this software not being connected with no spyware..

Lol I feel like a presidential hopeful I am Brandon and I approve this software hahahah

I don't know too many freeware programs, but I do know of some sites such as SycloSoft, CoffeeCup, and Freeware Files.
