Default Use Computer To Connect To Landline?

Hi,

I have a Mac Mini connected wirelessly to a broadband router. I'd like to be able to use the mini to make phone calls over my regular home (BT/TalkTalk) landline - NOT VOIP. Basically, I don't want to have to get up and get the phone whenever I want to make a call, and there are no phone plugs in my room. Does anybody know how I could go about this?

Many thanks.

P.S. If you only know for Windows PC, I'm still interested to know.

Hey M_Steiner!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

I can't think of any way to make this possible, not using VoIP.

Do you know that is possible anyway?

Blue

Your going to have to use VOIP in one form or another if you want to use your computer. Have you thought about buying a cordless phone, they have a good operating range (distance) from the base station.

I have a el cheapo Uniden which I use when I cannot connect with my VOIP service, it's not very often this happens though.
