Default Web page and some images willl not load...

Hey there,

I am having some trouble viewing a website i realy need to log onto (ING Direct > Home > High Interest Savings Accounts) and also some pictures do not load up (this is not such a problem however it is irritating).

I have run spyware checks, deleted my cookies and these have had no effect.

I attend university, and connect to the internet through what i presume would be called a server/network. all the other people who i share a corridor with are able to view these images and this site which has led me to believe there is something wrong with my pc rather than the university blocking these sites and images.

i have tried 3 web browsers all giving the same result.

please help,

Ed

Hi.

I am not so sure about Sophos, but some anti-virus or firewall software has a privacy setting to "disable web bugs".Check whether this is your problem. If it is, uncheck or turn it off. (The term "web bug" is a misnomer. They are really just harmless tiny images on a web page or email, sometimes used for tracking purposes.)

Otherwise, it could be that your Internet Explorer security settings are set too high, preventing you from accessing the web site which hosts the image. If this is your case, reset to the default security settings. In Internet Explorer, click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Default Level.

I'm still thinking that this could be related to your anti-virus.

Turn Sophos off, then try accessing the site again. Do the images appear? After that, turn it back on immediately, regardless of the result. Thanks.
