Spyware Doctor

Howdy all.

Has anyone else used this product? Just wondering.

Seen all the awards it won, so one day was walking through wal-mart with the kids and bought it. I have to say in the beginning I thought it was great. Better than any I have used b4 (and I used em all) Fast nice real time protection. But it is starting to get lazy. First it would not let me into sites that were blacklisted etc.. Now it is not even picking up simple things like click to find etc..Even though everything is updated and all on guard settings are on. Maybe when they hand out awards they should test it for more than a day. Don't know why its getting lazy but it is? Just a heads up.

Yes i think that more testing should be taken into things before awards are given.

A good example of testing is by Tomshardware. Instead of all the computer magazines etc. They carried out a 500-hour test on Windows Vista and a detailed overview including many screenshots. I read the overview and it seems a lot more detailed than the ones in many computer magazines including the official microsoft magazine.

As for Spyware Doctor, I have heard that although it's easy to use and looks nice..yadda yadda...it is patchy in its detection and removal. Personally, if I was going to actually buy an anti-spyware solution, I would go with AVG's Ewido.

is AOL Spyware protection any good as this is what i use at the moment i am presuming that it is not brilliant would i be better of using spybot?

the problem with AOL's app is it runs over alot of the semi spyware it install itself. Like wildtangent and other goodies. Yes Ewido is good have used it. But SWD was the best at first just getting lazy.. Will have to buy ewido for the onguard apps.
