Hey Jerry,

Believe it or not, they actually have a way to create a bootable CD. Then you can burn the BIOS flash program onto the CD.

Do you have Nero, or if not what CD burner do you have? The trick to a burnable CD is that the program can "unpack" the ISO file. An ISO file is very much like a zip file in that it contains seperate files that must be interpreted, and is useless in and of itself. Not all burning programs have this capability.

Looking forward to your reply,

I do have Nero, so would I simply burn the CD when it asks me to create the floppy disk? Or is there a different procedure to this?

Great Jerry,

But you know they would never let it be that simple, lol. Although Intel does not support creating bootable CDs, they do suggest the following sites for instructions. I have used Bart's and it worked great. If you need help with any of these please don't hesitate to let us know.

Creating a Bootable CD
Creating a bootable CD is not as simple as creating bootable floppy disks. Refer to any of the following websites for tips on creating bootable CDs. Intel is unable to assist with the creation of bootable devices.After creating the bootable CD, you will want to add the flash utility, boot from the CD, and run the utility. Reboot the PC, and check the BIOS to ensure that the new BIOS has been installed.

LGW, it's getting a little to complicated for me. I think I'm best to hold off on this part until I add a floppy drive.

So in the meantime I have two questions;

1.) Is it safe to uninstall the BIOS update files and just try this again later?

2.) Should I uninstall MOBO or is there still a way someone can help me check my temps?
