Hey Jerry,

Thanks for that info, Here is what your SpeedFan results will look like, sort of, mine isn't giving me correct infomation right now.

This is the information that we will need to start with. To post a screen shot, have your screen set up with SpeedFan running, hit the PrtScn (sometimes combined w/ other functions, like SysRq) button on your keyboard. Then open up an image managing program, it can even be word, and press Crtl + V to paste. Click on the image of a paperclip on your toolbar, browse to locate your file, click on upload, and it will attach it for you. Or you can use the image shack host it function below your post.

One of us will tell you what else you need to do.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Ok thanks, I'll get that as well as the other steps as soon as I can.

Is there anything with the specs that looks like a possible problem?

Nothing jumps out at me, but do you have any information about what your PSU (Power Supply Unit) is? If it came with the PC we can look it up.

Looking forward to your reply,

Here's the SpeedFan screen shot, let me know if it's all OK.

As for the power supply unit can you explain more what that is all about?

Hey Jerry,

The Power Supply Unit, PSU, is the control box basically, which doles out power to the rest of the components of the computer, the MOBO, motherboard, CPU, central processing unit, fans, etc. If you add components like DVD players, and other peripherals that require power, you add strain onto the PSU and it may not work as well if it does not have a high enough wattage capacity. It is something that can go bad. It can cause a miriad of symptoms on the PC if all of the components need more power than it can dole out.

From the looks of the SpeedFan settings, your HDD, harddrive, is running very hot. Lets try Motherboard Monitor to see if you get the same information.

You will first need to uninstall SpeedFan, use your Add/Remove Programs for that, and then install Motherboard Monitor. It could just be that you are gettng a false positive, and that is why I want to check with another program.

Post back the results, and then we'll see where you are at, you may just need to add a fan. Looking forward to your reply,

Ok, I'm downloading Motherboard Monitor as I type this, do you simply need another screen shot of that?

As for the PSU I have not added any other components to the PC, so do you think that would still be an issue?

And let me do Joe's other step right now. He asked that I copy and paste the uninstall list from HijackThis. So here it is, let me know if anything could pose a problem from this. And then just let me know what you need from the Motherboard Monitor and I'll get that to you as well. Thanks for your help.

Hey Jerry,

Let's let Joe take a look at that uninstall list, before we get ahead of ourselves.

Keep an eye out for his post.
