Zimbo, Great news finally the problem has been corrected. Pinnacle had me uninstall Pinnacle Studio Plus 9 one more time (5 so far) and then delete all traces of both Pinnacle (including Smartsound) and Quicktime (not Quicktracks) and do a full reinstall. Seems the problem was the Quicktime upgrade to Version 7. When you install Pinnacle is loads its own version 6.0.1. It works fine with that version. I must have updated Quicktime and that screwed up the smart sound. Thank you guys for jumping on this problem so fast as I just had found your forum and that was my first question. I am really impressed , though you did not solve my problem, it was just a matter of time with all your recorces. Thanks again.

Well done Woody, glad to know that you finally got it working and thanks for posting the solution.
Hmmm so no updating to version 7 then, (make sure you don't install i-Tunes then
