Default [Resolved] DVD Writing software

(sorry if this is in the wrong forum)

Hey,
I have tried wiritng some DVD's using Roxio DVD Builder. Im trying to dvds of home videos etc. When i click on the burn button and select the settings. The Encoding process takes... Forever.:computer_ More than 24 Hours most times i just cancel it and write it as a file to play on the laptop. If you guys have any idea why the Encoding process is takin so long please let me know. Also if there is a better program i could use.

Cheers for your help :hello2:

Hey Ematte,

You don't mention the OS that you are using, or if all of your updates are current.

I would be interested in knowing if you have tried burning from your computer and if you got different results.

I have been using Roxio for years and have always been happy with the results, but up till now, have always used it for CD burning not DVD.

We have some folks here who are very experienced with DVD burning and may have some more questions.

I look forward to your next post.

The encoding process can take a long time if you have an older/slower laptop. I have never used Roxio myself, Now are you trying to encode them as mpeg2, or VOB? Here is an exellent program I have always used and is great, yet it only has a 30 day trial period. But you can at least try it out and see if it helps.

Glad to hear it. And yes a new CPU always helps speed up things.
