Default [FIXED] Process Idle Time

Well I'm obviously someone with lotsa computer troubles :-D

So yea, I was wondering today why my computer was kinda sluggish so I pull up the process view and I make it show me the process using up the most CPU time, and I see the Idle process time using up between 90 and 99 of the CPU. I'm pretty darn sure it's not really supposed to do that as I've never seen it do it so I'm wondering what could be causing it and how to prevent it because it slows down the opening time of applications and I usualy have a lot of windows open

Don't worry, the idle process should sit between 90-100% if your system is operating correctly.

It's not the idle process that's killing your speed - mine is 99% at the moment and my PC is flying along

No thats not what is causing the slowdowns. The ?idle process is the amount of processor time that is not being used. So the higher the percentige there , the better.
