Well I called Nokia and they said that I had a bad version of the cable. I had bought the serial-USB version instead of the USB version. The one I have has 13 Pins whilst the USB one has 6 and Nokia have no drivers for 13-pin USB-Serial cables. So I need to find a USB-Serial driver for 13pin connections

Hmm :banghead:

Does the cable have a version number or any model numbers on it to make it easier to search for the drivers?

Could you try these two drivers, try the "nokia - 13.3mb" one first.

http://members.driverguide.com/drive...riverid=397719

http://members.driverguide.com/drive...riverid=488534

The username = drivers
Password = all

If you login and it doesn't take you directly to the page then click on basic under the search section and search for "KQ-U8A".
It should find two files.

Well first one did not work and I don't see how to install the second one. All .exe files say "could not find uninstall"

I recently purchased a DKU-5, and was then promptly advised by a colleague that they had returned 2 of them, because they couldn't get them to work.

However, I installed the software first, then connected the phone (as requested by the software). When the software automatically tried to install the drivers, it seemed to hang. I left it for 15 minutes then got impatient and unplugged it (USB version). When I re-plugged it in, I went through the automatic Windows XP driver installation wizard, which in turn, allowed the software to run correctly. However, it did change the appearance of the desktop, (due to the drivers being unsigned, I assume) so I then had to go into the properties to change them back to my personal preferences.

Maybe uninstalling the driver and software and following my method will help.
