Default [FIXED] screensaver inoperative

I have a "new" refurbished HP pc running MS media center edition. With the proper commands to initiate the screensaver? Properties->Screen Save ->r number of minutes ->apply.....it doesn't happen...Also when I ask the power setting to turn of the monitor, that doesn't happen either.

Anyones thoughts ..suggestions? ? ?thanks

Welcome to PCHF. We have lots of great people on this site, I am sure that we can help you figure this out.

Have you updated your OS to the latest updates? Updating seems to be Microsofts answer, as they have a couple of known issues with XP and screensavers.

Also, do you know if your OS was the original OS for your PC?
