Default [Fixed] Software installation problems (Aol broadband)

I run windows 98 se and recently i have been having problems installing any new software from a disk, when i insert the aol broadband disk the screen will go black and i will get the error,

SETUP caused a divide error in module QUICKTIME.QTS at 0167:668f5a6c.

Naturally after seeing this message i uninstalled quicktime from my system which i now believe to have been an incorrect decision as it has not made the message disapear after i install the disk, it is now getting frustrating as i am being billed for a service i cannot use, anyone got any suggestions/ideas because i really need help

Cheers

Hi there and welcome to PCHF

It does appear that QT is/was the faulting application. Did you actually remove the QT folder from Program Files after you completed the add/remove in Control Panel?
