Just joined your forum. I just bought a used IBM T23 Thinkpad with Win2k SP1 installed. It's registered to a user in a Work Group. I'm a single user, not on a network and sadly don't know anything about them. I tried to install the Belarc Advisor before posting anything but got the following message: "You do not have access to make the required system configuration modifications. Please rerun this installation from an admisinstrators account. (Belarc SMBios Access) The remote proceedure call failed." How do I establish an administrator's account and why do I need one if I'm the only user and not on a network?
I'd love to. Problem is I got is at a Computer show and the vendor isn't local. It was one of those "off lease" deals. I knew I was taking a chance but fortunately it didn't much.
Thanks for the response to an almost incomprehensible post. I usually make more sense. I'm downloading LCP as I write this and will let you know how it works out.
