Does anyone know how to change a MPEG4 file into a MP3?

Mpeg 4 is a DIVX format. There is no way to turn that into an MP3.. You can take the audio track from it and turn it into and mp3 file but not the whole MPEG4 format..

thats what i thought. (I am actually asking for my friend).

So how would he go about extracting the Audio from the movie...video editing software?

only one I know of that may be able to do that to a Divx video is 3ivx found here

You could also use Adobe Premier to extract audio from a movie file..
