Hi my son is using RPG Maker 2000 to create a game, he has found several GIF files that he wants to use, but needed to convert to PNG files. He has found a utility that converts them, but for some reason, the RPG program will not recognize them as images.

Anybody got some ideas? Thanks a bunch. :-)

I believe PNG images are newer than 2000 (The number corresponds with the year, correct?). Therefore, RPG maker was not made to recognize PNGs and won't. I might be wrong, but I am almost positive PNGs are too new for the 2000 version.

Good noodling SpaceKid, except that most of the images in his RPG Maker are PNGs. I haven't been keeping up on the graphics stuff lately. Are there more than one version of PNGs? Maybe the utility isn't converting it correctly.

I need to read up on this format, it's new to me.

Any more ideas? :lol:

Paint Shop Pro 7, Photshop, Elements, you name it we got it. I am trying really hard to stay hands off with my son learning RPG tho, he's really sticking with it. But this one's got us both stumped, and when I suggested troubleshooting ideas, he had ALREADY DONE THEM!! I was really suprised.

I will suggest 2003 and see what he says.
