All the songs are in the folder where they should be (d:\itunes). When one opens the program, however, the library is empty and where once there were playlists is now an abandoned playground.

Are they in the proper file format? Programs normally will only display files that have the proper file format.

Try putting it under something named 'Library' or something like that under the itunes folder. :-)
